Mariel Dagot is in grade 10 at the Old Strathcona Academic High School; obtained Academic Honors in all subjects. Graduated valedictorian in sixth grade, first place winner with perfect score in a nation wide Gauss Math contest in junior high. Participant in school debates, the Drama Department; directed a student video production. School representative to the science olympics. Sports participant in the school's curling and volleyball teams. Active volunteer with Red Cross Blood Center, the Good Samaritan Society, The Alberta Lung Association. Parents: Tony and Chit Dagot.
Michele Marie Santiago is a grade 10 Honors student at ArchBishop MacDonald High School. Recipient of Top Honors in invidual subjects in grades 7,8,9. Special awards in High Q (ITV), in Geography Challenge of the Royal Geographic Society; Recipient of PRISM Award (Writing 1993); YTV achievement for writing. Writer, The Philippine Canadian Times, Young Canadian Ambassador to the World Cup in Washington DC, 1995. Piano student of Dr. Ernesto Lejano; studying for her ARCT with the Conservatory of Music (Toronto). 1997 winner in the Edmonton Music Festival in the 16 years and under solo piano class. City of Edmonotn Representative to the Provincial Music Festival, 1997. Studied Acting and Ballet and appeared in commercial and film television, in professional musical theaters. Volunteer performer in Dance Troupes and various performances at city hospitals and civic functions. Recipient of Awards: Rutherford Scholarship; National Ballet School (Toronto); Edmonton Kiwanis Festival Rotary Scholarship to the Seminar on United Nations & International Affairs, Accepted in Harvard University, Faculty of Liberal Arts, Summer 1996. Columnist, The Philippine Canadian Times; Editor-in-Chief and columnist, Stratford Life and Times. Choir director, Lymburn School, Assistant Instructor, Jamie Platz Judo Club, Best male Judo technician, Alberta 1995. Role model and spokesperson, City of Edmonton D.A.R.E. Program. Currently working on his Associateship of the Royal Conservatory of Toronto for Piano Performance. Parents: Gordie and Brenda Basiga.

    Jasmine Punzalan graduated with honors from Holy Trinity High School; Recipient of the Rutherford Scholarship Award. Completed her 3rd year B.Comm. at the University of Alberta, maintained academic first class standing. Recipient of the YUICHI KURIMOTO Memorial Scholarship based on academic perfrmance & participation in campus activities, to pursue studies at Sophia University in Tokyo, Japan. Involved with AISEC, Junior Achievement and Toast Masters International, Summer Youth University. Volunteered at an early age of 13 at the St. Joseph and Grey Nuns' Hospitals; The Edmonton Fringe Festival and the Edmonton Food Bank. Played clarinet for years with the Edmonton All Girls Marching Ambassadors. Parents: Jess & Juanita Punzalan; Grand Parents: Dr. Teofila Punzalan and the late Dr. Jesus Punzalan, and Atty.     Jolene Yuen-Jung graduated from Sturgeon Composite High Scholl with top Honors. Recipient of Rutherford Scholarship, Awardee in the National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine in Washington DC. Particpant in SEVEC student exchange, 1996. Recipient of Gold and Silver certificates in piano, Kiwanis Festival; Studied Ballet and Professional Dance; Jazz and Rhythmic Gymnastics; Gold & Silver Medalist in speed skating, Alberta Winter Games, 200 Relay; Edmonton Journal Games Champion, Edmonton, Fencing Fencing Club, 1993; Ranked third in Fencing in Alberta (18 yrs and under), 1994; Ranked in Top 10 in Canada, Fencing Juniors, 1996; Captain, Senior Girls Rugby Team, won Gold Medal in Alberta, 1997; Member LPGA (Jr girls), Golfing 1996. Volunteer at Provincial Museum, Edmonton Heritage Days, piano performances at Senior Citizens homes. Parents: Delia Aranas and Keith Yuen-Jung; GrandParents: Atty. Marcial and Ching Aranas.
